Authenticity Guarantee

Every piece is hand-selected, cleaned, and described using over 20 years of vintage experience. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage. If an item isn't as described, I'll refund you in full, including shipping.

Vintage Condition

Every piece here is pre-loved and often decades old, so expect gentle signs of age and use, like light scratches, softened plating or finish, small marks, or patina. That's part of each piece's history and charm, and nothing will look fresh off a showroom floor.

Anything beyond normal wear, such as chips, cracks, repairs or damage, is always pointed out in the description and shown in the photos. If an item arrives with a flaw I didn't mention, my return policy has you covered.

Return Policy

Buyer pays return shipping unless the item was not as described. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 business days of receiving the item.

Remember when movie night meant threading up the projector, turning off the lights and laughing at Charlie Chaplin on a bedsheet screen? This lot of four Blackhawk Films Super 8 home movies brings back the golden age of silent slapstick, and every reel comes in its colorful original Blackhawk box.

What's in the lot:

  • Charlie Chaplin, Easy Street (1917), in the yellow "8mm. Charlie Chaplin Movies" box. The Little Tramp becomes a policeman on the toughest street in town. Label numbered 860 04 0008.
  • Laurel & Hardy, Double Whoopee (1929), in the pink "8mm. Laurel & Hardy Movies" box. Stan and Ollie are hapless hotel doormen, with an early appearance by Jean Harlow. Label numbered 860 60 0020.
  • Mack Sennett Comedies, Super-Hooper-Dyne Lizzies (1925), in the orange and blue Mack Sennett box. A wild car comedy about radio-powered Tin Lizzies, starring Billy Bevan. Label numbered 860100240.
  • At the Ringside (1921), in the "8mm. Movies" box with the colorful reel design. A Hal Roach boxing comedy with Snub Pollard and Sunshine Sammy Morrison, directed by Charley Chase. Label numbered 860 08 1168.
  • Material: Super 8 movie film on gray plastic reels, in printed cardboard boxes
  • Maker: Blackhawk Films, The Eastin-Phelan Corporation, Davenport, Iowa
  • Era: The films date from 1917 to 1929. These Blackhawk Super 8 prints and boxes are about the 1970s.
  • Format: Super 8, black and white. The labels don't say sound, so we're listing them as silent. They need a Super 8 projector or viewer; regular 8mm machines won't run Super 8.
  • Size: Boxes are about 7 1/2" square; reels are about 7" across
  • Count: 4 reels in 4 original boxes
  • Color: Pink, yellow, orange, blue, black and gray
  • Condition: Untested and sold as is, as collectibles. We haven't run them through a projector. The boxes show edge and corner wear, scuffs and rubbed spots, most on the pink Laurel & Hardy box and the black At the Ringside box, and one box has an old number penned inside. The reels look clean and tightly wound in our photos. Please see all photos.

A fun gift for a classic film fan, a Chaplin or Laurel & Hardy collector, or anyone with a Super 8 projector waiting in the closet. Curious about home movie collecting?
