Authenticity Guarantee

Every piece is hand-selected, cleaned, and described using over 20 years of vintage experience. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage. If an item isn't as described, I'll refund you in full, including shipping.

Vintage Condition

Every piece here is pre-loved and often decades old, so expect gentle signs of age and use, like light scratches, softened plating or finish, small marks, or patina. That's part of each piece's history and charm, and nothing will look fresh off a showroom floor.

Anything beyond normal wear, such as chips, cracks, repairs or damage, is always pointed out in the description and shown in the photos. If an item arrives with a flaw I didn't mention, my return policy has you covered.

Return Policy

Changed your mind? Contact me within 30 days of delivery. Items must be returned unworn, in the packaging they were shipped in, and securely packed. Buyer pays return shipping unless the item was not as described. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 business days of receiving the item.

Remember when vacation photos meant pulling down the screen, turning off the lights, and sitting through "and here's the Prado again"? This lot of 12 vintage 35mm color slides brings back that whole evening, minus the clicking projector fan. It's two little time capsules in one: seven souvenir slides of Spain's most famous paintings, bought at the Museo del Prado in Madrid and the Iglesia de Santo Tomé in Toledo, plus five original Kodachrome travel slides of city streets from the same trip.

What's in the lot:

  • Goya, Los fusilamientos del 3 de mayo (The Third of May 1808), Museo del Prado
  • Goya, La familia de Carlos IV (The Family of Charles IV), Museo del Prado
  • Goya, La maja desnuda (The Nude Maja), Museo del Prado
  • Velázquez, Las Meninas, Museo del Prado
  • Velázquez, Las lanzas (The Surrender of Breda), Museo del Prado
  • El Greco, San Sebastián, Museo del Prado
  • El Greco, El entierro del Conde de Orgaz (The Burial of the Count of Orgaz), Iglesia de Santo Tomé, Toledo
  • 5 Kodachrome travel slides in white "Kodachrome Slide, Processed by Kodak" mounts: original snapshots of grand old city buildings and streets, including a plaza with a fountain, flower beds and red city buses. They appear to be Madrid. Two are nearly the same view.
  • Material: 35mm color slide film in cardboard mounts
  • Maker: Museum souvenir slides with "Museo del Prado, Madrid" or "Iglesia de Santo Tomé, Toledo" printed on the mounts; the back of the Goya Third of May slide is stamped "Sanz Vega" with the number 722. Travel slides processed by Kodak.
  • Era: About the 1970s to 1980s, based on the Kodak logo and mount styles
  • Size: Standard 2" x 2" mounts that fit most 35mm slide projectors, viewers and light boxes
  • Color: Cream mounts with deep magenta-toned art images; the Kodachrome slides show blue skies and natural color
  • Count: 12 slides
  • Condition: Good vintage condition with age. The seven art slides have faded to a strong magenta-pink tone, which is common as these older film dyes age, and some are quite dark (Las Meninas most of all). A few dust specks show in our photos, and the cream mounts have light toning. The Kodachrome slides keep their color well. Please see all photos.

Fun for an art history lover, an art teacher's light table, a Spain travel keepsake, a junk journal, or a little backlit gallery wall. The pink tone actually makes them look like a moody modern art print. Curious how to tell when your own slides were made? Read our guide, How to Date Vintage 35mm Slides. Learning Spanish too? Pair it with our McGraw-Hill La Casa Spanish Filmstrip. Styling props shown in photos are not included.

One of a kind, only one lot available. When it's gone, it's gone.
