Meet Your Vintage Curator

Hello, I'm Carrie, and welcome to Oddly Darling Vintage.

Where it started

I was raised by my grandparents in a house full of trinkets and treasures, and they told me the story behind every one. On weekends we went treasure hunting for antiques together, and they shared everything they knew with me. My grandparents are long gone now, but their love for antiques and vintage lives on through me.

From collector to curator

I started out as a collector. Then my collection became an obsession, and I wanted to share that obsession with the world. I've now been buying and selling vintage for over 20 years. I've had my own vintage store and sold on many different platforms, and along the way I learned how to spot a true vintage find, and how to tell it from a reproduction.

When a piece catches my eye, I dive deep and learn everything I can about it, because I take pride in my work. I don't know it all, but I know a lot, and I'm always learning.

More than a shop

I think of Oddly Darling as part shop, part vintage museum. I have rooms full of pieces waiting to be listed, thousands of them, from all over the world. These pieces hold memories for me, and I want to share them with everyone else. I also want to save them from the landfill and from being destroyed.

How I find my pieces

I hunt for everything myself at estate sales, yard sales, and thrift stores. Some pieces I choose because I know they're in demand. Others I bring home because they simply speak to me. There's no warehouse and no mass-produced inventory here, just one-of-a-kind finds that I've handpicked.

What I love

Mid-century modern is my favorite era, so you'll find plenty of it here, along with Victorian, Art Nouveau, and the occasional Georgian treasure. I also have a soft spot for the fun, bold styles of the 80s and 90s. You'll find vintage jewelry here alongside a growing collection of home goods, glassware, and curiosities.

What you can count on

Every piece is cleaned, researched, and photographed by me before it's listed. I describe the era, maker, and condition honestly, flaws included, so you know exactly what you're getting.

I know vintage shoppers have been burned before, so I stand behind everything I sell. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage, and on the rare occasion I list a newer piece with a vintage look, the listing says so plainly. If something isn't as I described it, I'll make it right. You can read my full Authenticity Guarantee on each product page and in my Refund Policy.

I want you to feel comfortable shopping with me. If something isn't right, tell me, and I will do my very best to make you happy.

Thank you for giving these pieces a second life. I hope you find something that feels like yours.

Warmly, Your favorite Thrifter!! Carrie
