Somebody will be watching every time you turn on the lights. This vintage Takahashi ceramic double light switch plate has three bunnies in raised relief, all dressed for the occasion: a little one in blue overalls standing on a tree stump with a flower, one in the middle with a pink plaid collar and skirt, and one in a green dress and lace-edged apron holding the end of a flower garland.
Their wide, round eyes give them a stare that is a little odd and completely endearing, which is why it's here. The plate is glazed in cream with orange, pink, blue, green and brown, and it has a scrolled border across the top. It fits a double toggle switch, two switches side by side.
The back has its gold foil sticker reading Takahashi, San Francisco, Made in Japan. Takahashi was a San Francisco importer of Japanese ceramics and gifts, and this piece dates to about the 1970s or 1980s. Sweet in a nursery, a child's room, a cottage kitchen or anywhere a plain plastic switch plate looks too serious.
Condition: Good vintage condition. There is a small chip on the back that does not affect the front. Screws are not included. Please look closely at all photos, as they are part of the description.
