Pure drama in black. This vintage black velvet half hat is an open-back bandeau that curves over the head like a wide headband, topped with a sleek black feather bird whose long tail feathers sweep down one side. A fine black net veil drapes over the face for that mysterious old Hollywood look.
The curved band sits across the crown and hugs the head, and the open back leaves room for a chignon, pin curls or a low bun. A striking piece for a vintage wedding, a derby or tea party, a cocktail evening, a costume or a hat collection.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The velvet is rich and dark and the veil is in place. The body of the feather bird shows light fading. Please see all photos.
