Authenticity Guarantee
Every piece is hand-selected, cleaned, and described using over 20 years of vintage experience. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage. If an item isn't as described, I'll refund you in full, including shipping.
Vintage Condition
Every piece here is pre-loved and often decades old, so expect gentle signs of age and use, like light scratches, softened plating or finish, small marks, or patina. That's part of each piece's history and charm, and nothing will look fresh off a showroom floor.
Anything beyond normal wear, such as chips, cracks, repairs or damage, is always pointed out in the description and shown in the photos. If an item arrives with a flaw I didn't mention, my return policy has you covered.

Vintage Reverse Painted Intaglio Glass Brooch | Chinoiserie Rickshaw Puller | Gold on Black | Beaded Gold Tone Frame | 1950s–60s | 1.6"
Glass and gold-tone metal frame a little scene from the Far East. This mid-century chinoiserie brooch shows a rickshaw puller in a conical hat, carved into the back of a clear glass cabochon, painted gold and backed in glossy black, so the figure seems to float deep under the glass. The domed cabochon sits in four prongs inside a gold-tone frame trimmed with beaded edges and little beaded clusters at each point.
- Material: Reverse carved and painted glass cabochon in gold-tone metal
- Maker: Unsigned
- Era: About the 1950s to 1960s
- Motif: Chinoiserie rickshaw puller in a conical hat
- Technique: Reverse intaglio: the design is carved into the back of the glass, then painted gold with a black backing
- Setting: Four-prong set in a beaded gold-tone frame
- Closure: Bar pin with C-clasp
- Size: about 1.6" wide
- Colors: Gold and black
- Condition: Good vintage condition with honest wear. The black backing paint has flaked away in spots, mostly toward the edges, which shows as lighter patches through the glass. Some wear to the gold-tone finish on the back. Please see all photos.
