In case you ever forget what goes in it.
A charming novelty toast rack whose divider bars are shaped as letters that spell out T-O-A-S-T — a whimsical take on the classic British breakfast rack. It stands on four rounded ball feet with a round ring carry handle rising from the center.
This is a vintage 20th-century silver plate piece made in the Edwardian style, a decorative revival of the early-1900s English original. The underside shows no hallmarks, and the letters and ball feet are bolted on with threaded posts and knurled nuts rather than soldered — both consistent with later reproduction manufacture rather than a period antique. We date it circa 1960s to 1980s.
It makes a delightful toast rack and is a popular choice as a letter, mail, or napkin holder on a desk or entry table.
