Old-world romance in a little oval. This vintage brooch is layered with intricate gold-tone filigree: a raised center medallion of scrolls and petals sits over a pierced lace-like base, all framed by a finely beaded edge. A large faceted ruby red oval glass stone takes center stage, flanked by two smaller round red stones, and darkened recesses in the metalwork make the detail really stand out.
The back is just as pretty, with an open floral filigree pattern and a simple C-clasp style pin, the kind often seen on older pieces. Lovely on a coat lapel, a velvet blazer or pinned to a scarf, and a natural for holiday season and Victorian or Edwardian-inspired outfits.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. All stones present and secure, with natural age-toned patina in the filigree. Unsigned. Please see all photos.
