Authenticity Guarantee

Every piece is hand-selected, cleaned, and described using over 20 years of vintage experience. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage. If an item isn't as described, I'll refund you in full, including shipping.

Vintage Condition

Every piece here is pre-loved and often decades old, so expect gentle signs of age and use, like light scratches, softened plating or finish, small marks, or patina. That's part of each piece's history and charm, and nothing will look fresh off a showroom floor.

Anything beyond normal wear, such as chips, cracks, repairs or damage, is always pointed out in the description and shown in the photos. If an item arrives with a flaw I didn't mention, my return policy has you covered.

Dozens of antique dolls in their Sunday best, posing politely for a 1994 auction. Not one of them blinked. Some of them can't.

This is Theriault's Catalogue 944, "I Made My Song a Coat," from the doll auction held May 7, 1994 by Theriault's, the Dollmasters of Annapolis, Maryland, the famous auction house devoted entirely to antique and collectible dolls. The title comes from a William Butler Yeats poem, and the catalog's design is full of bright felt appliqué to match.

Inside are full-page color photos and detailed lot descriptions of fine antique dolls, including French bisque bebes by Jumeau, French fleecy salon dogs and more. Each lot lists size, marks, condition, comments and the pre-sale estimate, which makes it a wonderful reference for doll collectors as well as just plain lovely to page through.

Collecting dolls? Pair it with our Kestner and Simon & Halbig doll identification and value guide, a pocket reference to German bisque doll marks.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The pages we looked at are clean and bright, and the binding is tight. The covers show light edge wear and a slight curl, and there are light scuffs on the black back cover. As with any used book, we haven't checked every page, so there may be marks or notes we didn't spot. Please see all photos.
