Authenticity Guarantee
Every piece is hand-selected, cleaned, and described using over 20 years of vintage experience. When a listing says a piece is vintage, it is vintage. If an item isn't as described, I'll refund you in full, including shipping.
Vintage Condition
Every piece here is pre-loved and often decades old, so expect gentle signs of age and use, like light scratches, softened plating or finish, small marks, or patina. That's part of each piece's history and charm, and nothing will look fresh off a showroom floor.
Anything beyond normal wear, such as chips, cracks, repairs or damage, is always pointed out in the description and shown in the photos. If an item arrives with a flaw I didn't mention, my return policy has you covered.

Antique Justrite Brass Carbide Miner's Cap Lamp | Six-Sided Tank & Fluted Base | Patented Dec. 30, 1919 | Reflector & Striker | 4" | As Found
A light that went to work underground. This brass Justrite carbide miner's cap lamp hooked onto the front of a miner's cap and burned acetylene gas to light the way. Water in the top tank dripped onto calcium carbide in the base, the two made gas, and the gas burned at the tip in the center of the reflector.
This one has a six-sided water tank with a rayed pattern stamped into the top, a fluted brass base that unscrews, a hinged water door and a wire lever on top that set the water drip. The plated reflector still has its striker wheel for lighting the flame, and the cap hook and brace are still on the back.
The top is stamped JUSTRITE and MADE IN U.S.A., and the bottom is stamped PATENTED DEC 30 '19, which puts it after 1919 and most likely in the 1920s. Justrite Manufacturing Company of Chicago was one of the best-known American makers of carbide lamps.
Condition: As found, with honest wear from use. The brass has an aged patina with spots, small dents and solder marks. The plating on the reflector is pitted and spotted. The base unscrews and has residue inside from use. It has not been tested and is sold as a display piece and collectible, not as a working light. Please look closely at all photos, as they are part of the description.
