The grapes are picked out in raised enamel so they actually stand up from the surface. Plates like this were made to be displayed, not used, and it's beautiful on a plate stand, in a curio cabinet or hung on a wall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSignature, era and mark:\u003c\/strong\u003e The scene is signed in gold at the lower right; it reads as C. Heer. Heer is one of the best-known signatures on Royal Vienna style porcelain. The scene appears to be a fine transfer finished by hand with raised enamel and gilding, which is how most signed Royal Vienna style cabinet plates of the era were made. The underglaze blue beehive (shield) mark on the back is the classic Royal Vienna style mark; the original Vienna factory closed in 1864, and the mark was then used by German and Austrian makers and decorators, most often in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which is when this plate dates from.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition:\u003c\/strong\u003e Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks.
